January 28, 2006.Cloudy,intermittent morning rains.Some sun occasionally came through.The Monster Energy Pro prelims were held in clean 4 to 6ft swells.The afternoon turned sunny but the ocean became rough and choppy due to gusting side-shore winds. New Years' Eve 2006

Waimea Bay was a clean 8to12ft(local) with light variable winds and clear blue skies.Not big enough for THE EDDIE.But with Waimea Bay being the only rideable north side break, sightseers and photographers were scrambling for parking and precious veiwing space.
